There’s something magical about the way the world transforms, from the frosty mornings to the quiet, snow-covered landscapes. In this post, I’m excited to share some winter color palette inspiration with you. I’ve put together 8 palettes that all have a different wintery vibe.

Whether you’re working on a new art project, sprucing up your home decor, or designing something unique for the winter season, these palettes are here to spark your creativity. Each one includes hex codes to make it easy for you to incorporate these winter-inspired colors into your work.

What makes up a winter color palette?

A winter color palette is defined by its cool, rich tones and muted shades. Think of icy blues, deep forest greens, soft grays, and crisp whites—colors that reflect the serenity and stillness of winter landscapes. Jewel tones like burgundy, navy, and emerald often make an appearance, bringing a sense of luxury and warmth amidst the cold.

Whether bright or subtle, winter palettes have an elegant, calming quality that makes them perfect for projects inspired by this season.

How to use my winter color palettes

Using these color palettes is super easy, whether you’re working in Canva, Adobe programs, or any other design tool. The hex codes I’ve included with each palette can be quickly copied and pasted right into your design software, so you can start playing with them right away. You can use the palettes as they are, sticking to the curated combinations for a cohesive look, or feel free to mix and match colors across the different palettes to create something unique.

Winter Harmony

Let’s start with a winter palette where cool icy tones are combined with warm red – inspired by this beautiful bird. This is a great palette for when you need neutral winter colors but still want to add a pop of color.

Winter color palette Frozen Dream

This second color palette is inspired by a frozen winter landscape. Personally, I love how the snow-covered treetops create a beautiful blend of different shades of green and gray.
