A foolproof way to turn your cupcakes into a real party. You don’t need any baking skills; all you have to do is to cut out the free printables and stick them on a toothpick.

No decoration skills needed

Does this sound familiar? You’ve seen a beautiful cake or cupcake design on Pinterest and thought to yourself, “I can do that too,” only to realize it’s not as easy as it seems. Been there, done that! And despite my love for baking and being able to make and frost the tastiest cupcakes, I can’t sculpt figurines or create intricate designs with buttercream.

Hence the printables! All you have to do is neatly cut out the printables and attach them to a toothpick with tape. After this, you can create your own mermaid scenes. Compliments and magical looks guaranteed. Fun for cupcakes but of course also for a cake. Both store bought or homemade.

Access the printables in Canva

I made all of the illustrations myself and poured them into Canva for you. Most (small) elements can even be changed in color if you wish. You can personalize the banner by putting your own text on it in Canva.

The elements all have different dimensions; some are perfect for cupcakes, while others are more suitable for small cakes. So, make sure to carefully consider which dimensions best fit your project beforehand, and adjust them if necessary.

Let’s get started!

To summarize:

  1. Click on the link above to open the printable in Canva.
  2. Optionally, adjust the colors, remove elements you don’t want to use, and duplicate the elements you want more of.
  3. Check the dimensions of your elements to ensure they will fit perfectly on top of the cupcakes (or your cake). Print out a test on regular paper if necessary.
  4. Print your toppers on sturdy paper.
  5. Cut them out neatly.
  6. Attach them to a toothpick with scotch tape on the back.
  7. Have your frosted cupcakes or cake ready.
  8. Insert the toppers into your cupcakes or cake.

And ofcourse I would love to see your creation! 🙂
